CHILD SAFETY

CHILD SAFETY
Child Safety is the state of being safe, the condition of being protected against physical, social, spiritual, financial, political, emotional, occupational, psychological or other types or consequences of failure, damage, error, accidents, harm or any other event which could be considered not desirable. Protection is from both the cause and from exposure to something that is not safe.
Something that is childproof or child safe has been made safe for contact with, or use by, children or infants. Childproofing or Child Safety involves ensuring that a child cannot come to harm, and is a term particularly applied to the act of making a home safe.
Child Safety or Childproofing includes the restriction of children to safe areas, or preventing a child from reaching an unsafe area. Safety gates (also known as "stair gates") are used to prevent a child from accessing an area of a house, especially the stairway. Playpens are used for restricting movement to a much smaller area.
An infant bed is a small bed (commonly referred to as a cot in British English and a crib in American English) specifically for infants.
Infant beds are typically used as a bed for a baby after it is no longer safe to leave them in a bassinette. Infant beds are more stable than bassinettes and become desirable when a baby can roll. They have a lower center of gravity, a broader base of support and can hold a larger baby than a bassinette.
A Child Restraint system, also commonly referred to as a child safety seat, or a car seat is a restraint which is secured to the seat of an automobile equipped with safety harnesses to hold a child in the event of a crash.
A school bus crossing arm is a safety device intended to protect children from being struck while crossing in front of a school bus. A major hazard to children riding school buses is being struck by their own bus. There are, approximately two out of three students killed outside a school bus are not struck by other vehicles, but by their own bus, and the front of the bus is considered one of the most hazardous areas.
An AMBER Alert is a notification to the general public, by various media outlets, of a confirmed child abduction. AMBER Alerts are distributed via commercial radio stations, satellite radio, television stations, and cable TV by the Emergency Alert System, as well as via e-mail, electronic traffic-condition signs, and wireless device SMS text messages. The decision to declare an AMBER Alert is made by the police organization investigating the abduction. Public information in an AMBER Alert usually consists of the name and description of the abductee, a description of the suspected abductor, and a description and license plate number of the abductor's vehicle, if available.
A child harness is a safety restraint for walking with small children. The device is primarily used with toddlers and children of preschool age, and typically consists of a shoulder harness with a lead (tether) secured in the back, either directly or by means of a hook. When the device is used, a child wears the harness and a parent or a guardian holds the end of the lead or attaches it to their wrist. This allows the child relative freedom of movement in comparison to being seated in a stroller, carried by the adult (with or without a child carrier), or being held by the hand. At the same time, the child harness prevents child separation from the adult by the way of the child running off in a crowded or dangerous area, or being snatched by a kidnapper. The fact that a child harness bears some resemblance to a pet's leash, and concerns about improper, even abusive, use of it have created some stigma.
A child safety lock is a special-purpose device for locking cabinets, drawers, bottles, etc. to prevent children from getting at the dangerous contents. Young children are naturally curious about their surroundings and will always explore, but as they do not have knowledge of dangerous substances or situations, the results can be fatal. Numerous cases of poisoning have resulted from toddlers eating brightly-colored pills or spilling cleaning solvents.
Parents who babywear must be aware of external hazards in the environment, mostly relating to floor or ground conditions, such as icy sidewalks, etc. Also, as the baby has more freedom of movement and is closer to the adult point of view while in a sling as opposed to a stroller, parents must also watch to prevent the baby from grabbing hot drinks or other dangerous items. Proper position in the sling/carrier is important for the infant's hip, pelvis and spine growth. A proper carrier will disperse most of the infant's weight between the hips and thighs, which helps to eliminate compression of the spine.
Child Health Care Safety
Child Health care or healthcare is the prevention, treatment, and management of illness and the preservation of mental and physical well-being through the services offered by the medical, nursing, and allied health professions. The organised provision of such services may constitute a baby health care system. You should give all the vaccination of a child and maintain a Immunization and Health Record chart.
Give all the vaccination and immunization and make a health record of a child. These are very important for a child life.
A good health care of children, will make there life safe.
